The player character is the protaganist of Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, and is represented by a custom avatar designed by the player. The character is defined by various parameters, and becomes stronger through the various systems and mechanics in the game.

Every character in Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity belongs to one of five races: human, newman, cast, beast or deuman. The race of each character determines their overall aesthetic and also their battle capabilities.

Type[edit | edit source]

Types are the class system of Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity, and further determine a character's battle capabilities. Player characters can swap between the four different types at will, whereas each non-player character has a type defined for them.

Extend Type is a sub-system of the type system, and determines the different weapon categories that the player character can equip.
