Level up guide

From PSP2i Wiki

This is a list of various effective ways to level up at different points of the game. The ease and effectiveness of each method will depend on a few factors, such as how comfortable you are at playing the game, your equipment, stats, abilities, rebirth, and more.

Before focusing on levelling up, it is recommended that you complete story mode in its entirety, as this will give you access to as much content as possible, including stronger weapons and items in the shops to make levelling up easier.

Experience[edit | edit source]

The Magashi Plan[edit | edit source]

Main page: The Magashi Plan
Requirements

Recommended for all levels. This is the fastest method of levelling up, however it can only be played alone in story mode and requires currency. It is a long quest, but it gives unrivalled experience as all creatures give double EXP and have 25% of their maximum HP, allowing the player to blitz through it.

Gurhal Heroes[edit | edit source]

Main page: Gurhal Heroes
Requirements

Recommended from 75-80, or higher. This is a fast method of levelling up with no requirements, and can be accessed in both story mode and multi mode. This mission is also a fast way to obtain type points. The mission comes with 3 level ranges for enemies:

  • 50-100 (story mode only)
  • 100-150 (multi mode only)
  • 200-250

The easiest route is: Meadow → Seabed → Beach → The Dark, however feel free to experiment for different drops or change of scenery.

Infinity Missions[edit | edit source]

Main page: Infinity Missions
Requirements

Infinity Missions are a good alternative to Magashi Plan and Gurhal Heroes, as they spawn constant enemies and give decent XP buffs in certain missions. These missions can be very dangerous though, so it may be necessary to have some strong defensive gear, or some Rebirth stats under your belt.

They give very poor Type Points however, but you may find many unique items playing them.

Max Attack ∞[edit | edit source]

Main page: Max Attack ∞
Requirements

Max Attack ∞ is a fast way to gain experience and type points; if playing a human, newman, or cast, the blast rechargers in the missions make it very easy to gain experience as you will be able to wipe rooms quickly and tag all creatures without fail.

This method does require some basic investment, as the missions can become difficult very quickly, as they exist only with level 110+ creatures.

It is also recommended to be playing the Gurhal Boost Road versions of the missions, as they provide more EXP and type points, however this has even higher creature levels, so will require more investment or friends to play with.

Rebirth/Max stats Grinding Example[edit | edit source]

Grinding for full rebirth max stats is a chore no matter how you put it. There are some ways to make it a little less of a chore, but only so much. This method works for Casts, Newmans, and Humans. Here are some prerequisites:

  • 2 or more personal characters, not friend or partner characters(these bots match your level, which is useless for this grind). 1 or more of these characters should be lvl 200 with decent gear(More rebirths the better) and 1 character you are leveling
  • you need the following blasts: Sacred Cluster(A) and Starlight Cluster(S) for Casts, and Lightning Flash(A) and Thunder Flash(S) for Newmans and Humans.
  • A LVL 1 rod, A B-rank Rod(Mr. Ecoeco Stick works Great), and 1 or more S-Rank Rod with Zalure, Sazonde, and Resta. Remember to LVL up your Rod Proficiency!
  • A LVL 50 A-rank Shield-Weave, A S-rank Shield weave.
  • You need both DLC missions: Gurhal Heroes and MAX ATTACK ∞(Gurhal Boost Road version).
  • Make sure you have the EXP boost ability, partnership, and friendly Defense abilities equipped.

Okay with the above aquired, lets start the grind.

1) Enter story mode and add your other LVL 200 character(s) to your main character's party. Go to gurhal heroes. Use your main character to Hit the enemies with zalure and let your LVL200 character kill the enemies. You'll get exp. Keep using Zalure until you level up enough or swap to a strong enough rod that your sazonde stops doing 0 damage to the enemies(can't get exp if you do 0 damage). Use Sazonde to tag enemies safely to get exp. Run this from LVL 1 to LVL 50.

2) Enter Multi-mode and add your other LVL 200 character(s) to your main character's party. Go to MAX ATTACK ∞(Gurhal Boost Road version) Rank S.

Room 1: kill the enemies. Remember to use zalure to tag if you cant do damage.

Room 2: hit the button on the floor to activate the blast recharger and stand within a few steps of it: Spam blasts to kill everthing. the blasts will shock or stun the enemies until you recharge your blast. once the 1st section of the room is finished, enter the warp to the 2nd section to spawn the new enemies, warp back to the blast recharger and spam blasts. When using the SUV cluster series, face the enemies with your back to reach the farthest range of the SUV blast. This way you can stand a few steps from the blast recharger and reach the far enemies on the 2nd section of the room without having to move. Lightning and thunder flash have a much larger range and don't have this weakness(you can actually stand on the blast recharger).

Room 3: kill the enemies.

Room 4: warp in, hit the button to open the closed gate, which also triggers the release of ROCK #1. Just run into the rock and die. respawn, let ROCK#1 move to the bottom of the ramp, warp in again and the Rock #2 is released. slowly run infront of the Rock #2 down the ramp and dodge past the laser gates. If you timed everything correctly, the enemies and blast recharger should spawn as the rock is coming from behind you and is visible on the minimap. Quickly charge and release your blast, which should kill the first wave of enemies AND ROCK #2. Spam Blasts and kill everything. Skip boss. Do this From LVL 50-160. Then enter MAX ATTACK ∞(Gurhal Boost Road version) Rank infinite. Don't forget to equip the stronger blasts as they become equippable.

This method works a lot better the more LVL 200 other characters you have in your party and the better gear you have. Between LVL 1 and 50 you can use the (B) rank blasts or enter Max attack earlier, but I felt that it wasn't really needed since LVL 1-50 is so fast compared to LVL 50 - 200.

Here is a record of doing this Grind with 2-3 other LVL 200 characters in the party and using the speed boost in the psp emulator.

Grinding Under Speed Boost(Emulator Only)
LEVEL: Time Total Number of Rebirths needed Total Time needed(minutes) Total Time needed(hours)
LVL 1-50 Gurhal Heroes 17min 12sec 616x 10595.2 176.6
LVL 50-100 Max Attack I S 78min 33sec 95min 45sec 51x + 1x(LVL76) 4883.25 + 56.475 82.33
LVL 100-110 Max Attack I S 31min 15sec
LVL 110-120 Max Attack I S 35min 26sec
LVL 120-130 Max Attack I S 40min 27sec
LVL 130-140 Max Attack I S 48min 22sec
LVL 140-150 Max Attack I S 56min 59sec 308min 14sec 12x + 1x(LVL139) 3698.8 + 251.25 65.83
LVL 150-160 Max Attack I S 61Min 0sec
LVL 160-170 Max Attack I infi 69min 51sec
LVL 170-180 Max Attack I infi 79min 11sec
LVL 180-190 Max Attack I infi 84min 1sec
LVL 190-200 Max Attack I infi 92min 26sec 693min 29Sec 5x + 1x(LVL109) 3467.5 + 127 59.91

As you can see, rebirthing at LVL 50 is the least efficient in this method and at LVL 200 is the most efficient. What stats should you prioritize for rebirth? HP+Attack for casts since attack increases the SUV blast power to kill faster while HP will help survival in gurhal. HP+TEC for Newmans and Humans due to the same logic. Happy grinding for max stats!

Type points[edit | edit source]

For farming type points, always try to make sure that you clear the missions with an S Grade.

Gurhal Heroes[edit | edit source]

Main page: Gurhal Heroes
Requirements

Recommended for 75-80, or higher. This is the fastest way to obtain type points, especially if achieving S Grade. The mission comes with 3 level ranges for enemies:

  • 50-100 (story mode only)
  • 100-150 (multi mode only)
  • 200-250

The easiest route is: Meadow → Cherry Blossom → Desert → The Dark, however feel free to experiment for different drops or change of scenery.

Max Attack ∞[edit | edit source]
