This guide serves as a simple checklist to achieve the best ending in both episode 1 and episode 2. The best endings are required to unlock certain movies at the movie theater, certain partner characters, certain missions, and achieve various different titles and modules.
Best ending criteria
Episode 1
Earning the best ending in episode 1 requires the following:
- S-Rank clear in all story missions for chapter 1 to chapter 9.
- This includes the two side stories, Wayfarer in White and Crimson Warrior, which are available as the story progresses. Heroes' Ronde is not required.
- Friendship level with Emilia must be 240 or more, this is increased solely through dialogue options. This is not related to partnership rating.
Episode 2
Earning the best ending in episode 2 requires the following:
- All key events prior to Chapter 5 - Act 3 must have been viewed when Chapter 5 - Act 3 is started.
Key events
Key events are special cutscenes which are played after the completion of a mission in episode 2 if the player's friendship level with Nagisa is high enough, and a specific dialogue option has been chosen during the mission.
There are 5 different key events, one for each chapter. This guide will highlight which options are specifically required for the key events, although if the player has not amassed enough friendship level with Nagisa, the key event will not play regardless.

- ↑ This key event plays after Chapter 5 - Act 1, rather than the end of the chapter, so the correct dialogue and friendship level must be earned by then.
