'''Types''' (or ''Battle Types'') are the equivalent of classes in ''Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity''. There are 4 different Types, each having their own strengths and weaknesses, tending themselves to certain [[weapons]] or playstyles. Types level up separately to the character through Type Points, which are obtained upon the successful clear of a mission, with the mission clear rank directly affecting the amount of Type Points received.

Types determine the player's [[stats]], [[Photon Arts|photon arts]] level cap, trap usage, and proficiency with weapons with [[Extend Type]]. Types can be switched at any time at the Type Counter, and all [[races]] are able to use all Types, although certain races are more pre-disposed to certain Types than others. Note that in ''Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity'', weapons are not locked by Type, but instead have different Extend Type costs.

Types initially have a level cap of 30, but can be increased through [[Rebirth]] up to level 50.
